"As a couples’ therapist, my role is to help you both to jointly explore and
understand your conflict, and assist you to come to a resolution."
What to expect from Couples Counselling
Couples tend to come to therapy in crisis, usually with high emotions between them.
Often one partner is dragged to therapy and has no confidence that it will be helpful. There can be fear, as well as the hope that I will act as a judge and sort out their partner.
My role as a therapist is to understand what the conflict is about, and to assist you to come to a resolution. Not to tell either partner what to do, or to get involved in the argument.
"I offer a safe and secure environment where you and your partner
can explore your conflict without judgement or manipulation."
I qualified as a couples’ therapist in 1981 and have always practiced in South West London.
I've gained extensive experience working with all sorts of couples.
This includes all ages, heterosexual and same sex couples, as well as couples from mixed cultural backgrounds and mixed religions.
